November Favorites

As you can see, I don't use much products besides bb creams, blush, concealer and powder.  I'm more of a minimal kind of gal, so I really like the effortless makeup look.  It's easy and fast to do in the morning for when I'm in a rush!

Clinique's Sunset Glow and ELF's St. Lucia

I've had these two blushes in my stash for a while and decided to break it out for a run.  My favorite has to be Sunset Glow from Clinique.  I love how the rusty, berry color looks on my cheeks.  It gives a healthy color and glow to my cheeks.  The ELF's St Lucia duo is also very enjoyable this month.  This one appears more on the pinky side, with a golden shimmer, which everyone says is almost comparable to NARs' Orgasm.  The only downside about the ELF blush is that the golden shimmer is very noticeable on the skin... still not sure how that works for me, but I like it for now.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer, Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream, Missha Perfect Cover BB cream no. 13

Let's start with Rimmel's Stay Matte Powder in Translucent.  My Physician's Formula powder broke and I couldn't fix it with the alcohol trick, so I decided to use my backup powder, which is this Rimmel one.  The first time I tried this, I didn't like the white-ish cast it left on my face.  Problem was that I was working my brush into the powder, thus picking up too much, even though I tapped off the excess.  So this time, I just dabbed twice with my brush into the powder, and buffed lightly on top of my bb cream.  This time it didn't leave that much of a noticeable white cast.  Although this powder is deemed "translucent," there is a white-ish cast, something I'm not too fond of.  But this will work for now.

Next is the Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer and the Dream Fresh BB cream.  Both of these work really well for me.  For the concealer, I think I might call this my HG concealer because it works wonders for me!  I love how the neutralizer shade covers my dark under eye circles, and makes my under eyes look brighter.  The concealer shade in light also works perfectly on top of the neutralizer and also on other parts of my face as well.  I swear these concealers have some kind of brightening properties in there... it instantly perks up the areas that I apply it on.  Definitely an A in my book!

The Dream Fresh BB cream is a hit or miss for most people, but for me it's in between.  I like how the texture is like a tinted moisturizer, unlike it's asian bb cream counterpart which has a thick texture.  Although the bb cream is sort of on the sheer side, it does even out my skin tone a bit; it evens with a bit of the natural state of your skin showing.  Since I don't like to look like I have makeup on my face... this works fine for me.  The con is that it's sheer.  If the bb cream has buildable coverage, I'd enjoy it more.

The Missha Perfect BB cream in number 13 is also my favorite this month.  I really like the coverage that this bb cream provides.  Although the texture is very thick, once you blend it in nicely, it'll look natural.  Always start off with a small pea size and then use more if needed.  This bb cream also has a greyish cast after application, but after 15 minutes or so it oxidizes, so it'll match your skin tone a bit better.  Even though this color was way too light for me, I really liked the outcome of this bb cream.  This is going to be a staple in my makeup routine!

ELF's Complexion Brush, Sephora Professional Airbrush Concealer Brush
I like using the ELF Complexion brush as a blush brush.  It fits perfectly onto the area that I want my blush to go.  It also fans out a bit so I can buff and spread my blush out evenly onto my cheeks.  The Sephora Professional Aibrush Concealer brush is my HG concealer brush.  I love the way this applies concealer onto my under eyes.  It also works so well in blending out the concealer effortlessly.  I've used some standard concealer brushes before (the paddle shaped, synthetic ones), but this Sephora brush really trumps over the regular concealer brushes.

So what were some of your favorites this month?  I really like watching monthly favorites videos on Youtube, haha. Off to watch some more for recommendations!

  1. Oooo, I really want to try that Maybelline concealer! I've seen so many people use it! I'm not sure they sell it here though, will have to go look!

I like your picks for this month! I always found myself more interested in finding amazing face products rather than eye products... so this is a great read for me!
