September Favorites

Friday, October 04, 2013

Hello! It's that time of the month again... where the most grabbed for products makes it into the monthly favorites post! :) I was suppose to have this up before September ended... but school and other things got in the way, and thus the lateness of this post.  But without further adieu... lets get to it!

For my September favorites, I have a mix of things; makeup, perfume(s) and accessories/bracelets? Yep, I had on some kind of small armparty everyday. My makeup was quite minimal; it didn't even look like I had makeup on... but that was my plan : p

I have replaced my Rimmel Stay Matte powder with the Maybelline Dream Matte powder. It does live up to the hype; it gives a nice matte finish, not cakey when applied with a heavy hand (at least for me), and it doesn't accentuate fine lines or those really fine facial hair. Even though I bought the closest matching color for my skintone, it still does appear a bit too light for me, so I follow up with a little bronzer and some blush to bring some color back into my skin. The Tony Moly Luminous Pure Aura CC Cream is a new acquisition from ebay that I got a month ago. It has made its way into my makeup routine... and it's the best thing I've used since! The product comes out white, but as you apply it to your skin, the micro beads containing the foundation color bursts while you rub it in. It's has a very light coverage, so those who are looking for a decent amount of coverage from this cc cream, this may not be for you. I'm okay with the light coverage as I do not want a heavy face of makeup for an everyday look.

My most used blush of the month is Sunset Glow from Clinique. The color is like a rusty/coppery red that gives me a bronze-y glow and also gives my cheeks some color. The bronzer I sometimes used is Nars' Laguna bronzer. I have to apply this with a light hand because if I have too much on the brush, it looks muddy on my face. The foundation primer that I'm trying to use up is BareMineral's Prime Time foundation primer. I got this sample size a long time ago from Sephora, and its lasted me for ages!  It's not the best for a whole day of oil-control, but it works okay for a few hours before I have to blot.

ELF's blush brush works pretty well for it's price of $3.00. The size is just right for my cheek area, and the bristles are quite soft. I haven't encountered any loose bristles when washing or when I'm using it for blush or bronzer. So not bad for a $3.00 brush!

The perfumes that I've been gravitating towards is Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana, Peace Love and Juicy and Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture. All 3 scents are light and appropriate for day wear/school... so I'm always spritzing myself with either of these scents.

These were the bracelets that I wore often. Usually not all 5 at once, but 2 or 3 at the same time if I was feeling extra "fancy."

So here's my favorites for the month of September in a very long post : ) I hope to do these once in a while because I feel that my favorites will remain the same for a while... so I don't want to be repetitive. Also, I apologize for the long post! I'm still getting the hang of creating posts and thinking of what kind of things I want to say, so I guess with a little more practice, it'll be more organized and such.

So what were your favorites for the month of September?
